The Sevaliya Extension centre (SEC) was handed over to us for effective management by a local trust named Sevaliya Arogya Mandal in October 2010. In July 2013, the centre was upgraded into a model secondary centre with a 36 bedded facility including a modern state of the art OT facility, labour room, Trauma centre, Neonatal Stabilisation Unit, a secondary level ICU, Digital X ray facility and Ultrasound facility with external funding support. At present there are two Medical Officers, a dentist and a physiotherapist who provide full time services. In addition a physician, surgeon, orthopaedician, paediatrician, skin specialist and ophthalmologist provide services on a visiting basis. The performance of the centre over the last three years is described below. In order to link the centre with the community a primary health programme has been envisaged in 30 surrounding villages which will be implemented in a phase wise manner. 10 villages have been identified and 1st round of training for the Village Health Workers has been completed.
